biography

Nirupan Anand was born at Westmead Hospital, Sydney in 2011. He did his primary education at Carlingford West Public School. He is currently at The Kings School in year 7. Nirupan started playing cricket at the age of 10 and has been improving his skills, in the nets and on the field. He was playing with the Carlingford Waratahs cricket club until he started to play for the A team at The Kings school. He bowls pace and bats in the middle order.

Besides cricket, Nirupan enjoys playing football at school with friends. He also plays the clarinet and is part of the school band. Nirupan’s father, Muralidaran, born in India, grew up in Abu Dhabi and played football until a decade ago. Both his parents were school teachers.

Nirupan’s mother, Sulochana, born in Sri Lanka, she and her brothers were national tennis players back in Sri Lanka until they left the country for higher studies. Nirupan’s father introduced him to cricket as he came from a country famous for cricket and wanted him to be part of a team sport.
