Sreekanth Gunasekaran, born on the 13th of September 2011 is currently an OC student at Ironbark Ridge Public School. He started his Primary education at Girraween Public school before the OC class and will move to Baulkham Hills High School in 2024 for year 7.
The 2019 Cricket World Cup got Sreekanth hooked into Cricket, foraying into club cricket through the Pendle Hill Colts from 8 years old for the 20/21 and 21/22 seasons. The thrill and continuing passion of the game made him pursue Rep Cricket under Parramatta in Div 1 from 2021, twice for under 11’s and now for under 12’s. For the last two years Sreekanth has played for Winston Hills Cricket Club in under 13’s.
As a fast-opening bowler he intimidates batsmen with his swing, bounce, and pace whilst he can score quick runs with the bat. He is an all-round fielder, having taken catches in slip and on the boundary alike and has a good arm in the deep. He is an ultra-competitive individual that never gives up and always keeps the chatter up on the field. His commendable work ethic and excellent leadership skills are recognized and appreciated on and off the field.
As part of Primary School Sports Association, Sreekanth had the opportunity to represent the Sydney West cricket team that came 3rd in the NSW state carnival. He has also represented his school in the zones and regionals in athletics for the same association. Not only sport, Sreekanth is academically gifted and has won many accolades, medals, and trophies at school and various other competitions. As a valued member of his leadership team at both schools, he is a role model for many of his peers and mates.
